Installation Help
Tip 1 - Lens-Pressing Switches
To replace the bulb on a lens-pressing switch, press down on the switch and place the trim tool's slim edge between the lens and housing, opposite the side that presses in. The pressure should help the lens pop out with ease.
Tip 2 - Move Slow and Steady
Making sure to move slowly and steadily can help avoid any unwanted marring, scuffing, or damaging of the housing, sockets, or trim panels.
Tip 3 - Indentation Tabs
Some vehicles have indentation tabs on the lens or housing, indicating where to pry from. Using one of the forked edges of the trim tool included in these kits will help with these tabs.
Tip 4 - Removing Hard to Reach 194 Bulbs
If you have a hard-to-reach bulb or the bulb is too hot to touch, try using a pair of bulb removal pliers. If you do not have access to this tool, tape can work as well. Wrap a piece of tape around the bulb and pull it directly away from the socket.
Tip 5 - Polar Sensitive Bulbs
If the new LED bulb is properly installed and does not illuminate, try flipping the bulb 180 degrees and reinstalling it.
Tip 6 - Loose Festoon Bulbs
Gently adjust the metal terminal towards the opposite side slightly to close the space in the socket. If it is still loose, you may need a bigger bulb size.
NOTE: The more you do this, the more the terminals are likely to weaken.
Tip 7 - Trunk/Cargo Space Lighting
If you are having trouble removing the trunk or cargo bulbs from the housing, try using a trim tool to gently pry the bulb from the housing directly out of the socket.
Tip 8 - 194 Bulb Loose Connection/Flicker
If you're seeing a loose connection or flickering, try pulling the metal pins on the bottom of the bulb out to 45 degrees, ensuring a solid connection.
